  • Euro car parking and a SAR fiasco - Will it ever end?

    Hi all,

I was a registered keeper of a vehicle that was parked by someone other then myself within a hospital parking complex run by Euro Car Parks for which a Notice to Driver and subsequent Notice to Keeper were issued.

As with all these events I applied for a SAR (with forms of ID) under GDPR and received the most rudimentary pack by post. What struck me was that the package mentioned that there were photographs relating to a number of full photos showing of the vehicle using ANPR inside the pack. This I found interesting as firstly there are no signs indicating the use of ANPR within the terms and conditions on any notice at the car park but also are they using the cameras to time stamp the entry time and then using a patrol officer to check if the car is still in the car park? How valid would this approach be for them when trying to cire Keeper Liability?

I contacted Euro to find out which photos were taken by ANPR and they were difficult stating that they had already provided all that was required until GDPR and that was the end of the matter.

I then reminded them under article 15 of the GDPR that as I had applied for the SAR electronically I had a right to an electronic SAR (They sent me one by post). Now they've sent me a .pdf relating to ANPR but this time I need to call their Data Protection Officer to get a password to unlock the file. I'm sure they're trying to wear me out, and maybe hiding something or is what they're up to valid?

    Any guidance would be great...

Recording time of entry to time of observation does not give the period of parking, but some judges may think it does!

Are there any problems with the NTK?
If you post it up we can have a look for you, but first remove identifying details leaving in all times and dates

Obviously not making things easy for you, but illegitimi non carborundum
