  • Appealing against Dept Recovery Plus (Horizon Car Parking) - 3 Different Occasions

    HI all,

I've received a 3 different letters from Dept Recovery Plus after they've used a tracing service to find my current address as I hadn't got round to changing with DVLA yet.
These relate to incidents between September & October 24. I've contacted Debt Recovery Plus asking for their letters sent to my old address via email which they have provided - these are dated December 24 to January 25.
The incidents relate to overstaying without a permit - the driver of the car believed that their car was already under this permit.

Is there a good way to go about resolving this with an appeal that's relatively quick and painless?

Note I've looked at appealing this to Horizen, but I don't have the letters from them (assume at old address that I won't be going back to) but there's no easy way to contact them.
Is it straight forward to just appeal to Dept Recovery Plus now it's been passed on to them?

    Cheers

Edit - Today contacted Horizen to ask for all their correspondence to be emailed to me, they say aim to respond within 14 days.

Debt Recovery Plus are solely debt collectors and I would ignore them.

However I would send a Subject Access Request (SAR) to Horizon requesting all the information they hold about you (you should provide them with your previous address as well as current address) and the vehicle reg xxxxxxxxxxx.
Do not identify the driver when writing to them.

There is a SAR template link in the SHORTCUTS panel on right hand side of this page

Thanks des8, appreciate that. I've sent that off to them, we'll see what comes of it. Is it just a case of waiting at this point?
Also, do they usually respond within the month?

Most firms do respond within the month, as required by law.
        I anticipate Horizon will.

There is nothing to be done as appealing is out of their time schedule, and you haven't yet full information anyway.

        What was the permit scheme?
Can you get photos (completely legible!) of the signs at the location?
