Link Parking Ltd PCN issued

Issued with a PCN on 27th March 2023.
Entrance to car park sign said short term parking for retail units.
Approx 80 feet away another sign by Link Parking saying permit holders only or £100 to pay.

My husband parked under this sign as parking spaces directly behind retail units appeared to be for loading.

Parking agent was also parked in car oark
at that time and said nothing.
When my husband got out of the car to use the retail units ( which took 10 minutes max) agent was putting ticket on car saying it was private parking and sped off when challenged over sign at the entrance which contradicted this.

Have received solicitor letter demanding payment of £160.
I called
them and was told it’s private land the sign was there then they hung up. What can I do now please?

27th March to now(ish) seems an awfully short period to be receiving solicitor's letters.
Not impossible, but unusual.
Could you post up a redacted version?
Also the windscreen pcn & the postal Notice to Keeper (front & rear).....leave all times & dates visible on both.
And legible photos of the site signs.
