  • Parking Eye - 2.5 yrs later!!!

Good evening, I'm hopeful that someone on this forum can steer me in the right direction.

I've recently moved back from living abroad, and have been smacked with a letter from DBCL for an upaid Parking Eye fine dated 02/09/20.

In it, they say that they have written to me, but that I have not responded. But that they have now been made aware of my change of address.

My first issue is that at the time of the alleged contravention, I was living in the UK (and continued to do so for 7 months afterwards....) at my current address. Driving licence and vehicle logbook were changed in May 2020 to be reflective of my address, so well before the date of the fine (DL has date on, but I no longer own the car or any documents for the vehicle). So if they had indeed written to me, then it should have been sent the the address I was living at.

Secondly, as I've not received any letters from them, I have very limited details of the details of the alleged contravention - no times, exact locations etc. I've tried to contact Parking Eye, but can only get through to an automated line!

Thirdly, as I've not got the details, I've not had an opportunity to notify them of the driver, or to challenge it.

I've spoken to DCBL, but because I refused to pay there and then, they put the phone down in me. So I really don't see much point in calling them again

I'm now being threatened with legal proceedings. Help!!! Any advice?

If I did 'earn' this fine, I'll pay. But my issue is that I have no proof? I can't even remember being in Preston on this day

    Many thanks in advance, Sian

So you need to send a subject Access Request to Parking Eye (here's a template in the SHORT CUTS panel on the right of this page)

Also write to DBCL asking for all documentation on which they rely

Send letters first class Royal Mail with free certificate of posting (and keep copies!)
