Do mobile speed detector vans have rules where they can park and operate from - how accurate are they -

The information on which the matter is prosecuted must meet minimum standards and the equipment is calibrated and sited specifically to do so - do you doubt the data?

im ok when a van is parked up on a stretch that is clearly marked and there to act as a deterrent and catch those speeding, however when one is hiding around a corner or a dip in the road when the signage is questionable/ not clear and / or confusing / is that acceptable? I was caught, Ive driven back and forth many times over that particular stretch firstly to ascertain when the 40mph became a 30mph and when the Van would've actually clocked my speed
it was far from clear, a road marking badly worn and a sign on one side of the road that was dirty and in a position where the driver would be concentrating on the otherside due to a series of bends -

You have no defence with regard to the van being in a hidden position or the series of bends. If you can show that the signage was not clear, markings were wrong etc you may have one. You can plead not guilty and prove this in court if you wish.
