I have received an invoice for a parking charge (plus admin fee) from a rental company from which we had a car whilst our own car was being repaired.
The fine was issued at my place of work. The car park is free but has a time limit. If you work there then you either submit your registration number to the company for an exemption or you have to put your registration number into an IPAD in the reception area.
The rental company itself doesn’t own the car - they hire it from another company on a long term lease. It seems that they have gone ahead and paid the fine which was issued on 27th January and are now claiming the money back from me. We received an invoice from the hire company on 7th March.
I have contacted the parking fine issuer ARDPARK via my employer but they have replied simply saying that they have no record of the car registration being registered for that date.
Where do we stand given that the owner of the hire car has already paid the fine?
