Good morning everyone.
Hope you kind people can help me.
A number of months ago I received a letter from Smart Parking Ltd saying that I had parked my car illegally in a car park in Reading.
I (and my car) were at work all day just on the West Sussex border. Nowhere near Reading! I've never parked in Reading and couldn't even tell you where the car park is that I am supposed to have parked in!
I did a quick Google search as I had heard lots of stories about illegal parking charges etc and sure enough I found pages and pages of threads with people telling other people to just ignore them and their ever increasing threatening letters......so thats what I have been doing. I've never made any form of contact with them.
Today, I have received a letter from CST Law. "LETTER BEFORE CLAIM".
From reading it, it sounds like they will indeed be taking me to court, or according to their wording, "In the event the outstanding debt is not paid in full, we are instructed to commence legal proceedings"
Sooooo........What on earth do I do now? It appears the previous advice of simply ignore was incorrect??
Really don't fancy having to pay a £170 for a parking fine that is not mine!
Thanks in advance everyone.
