  • Met parking services. Stanstead Airport Southgate Park

    Hi Guys.
    Hope you are all well.

I have had a parking ticket through from the met parking services for parking in Starbucks and walking across to mcdonalds. I have read tons of reviews on here as to what to do, however my case is slightly different. Basically I moved home last July and completely forgot to register my car to my new address so the parking ticket has gone to my old address. Only now do I no about it because the debt recovery plus have sent me a letter. I have now registered my car here and sent the 'bog off' letter to the met parking services. They are saying I can't appeal as it's over 28 days. My question is shall I write back and ask for a popla code and still appeal the normal way you guys have recommended or what is the best route to take? So far I have I have ignored the debt recovery company.

    Your help is really appreciated.

The first thing is to edit so that the identity of the driver cannot be inferred, use "the driver ....."etc.

Send a SAR to Met and ask for all documents relevant to you and your car. Also give them your new address and tell them that is now you address for service. Free certificate of posting from a post office.

Has the driver been identified? simple yes or no

Hi ostell thank you for your reply. I will send them a SAR today. Yes when I previously wrote to the met I gave my new address.
No the driver hasn't been identified, on the letter it said about transferring the blame to the occupier. Which I believe is illegal from reading all these posts on here.

      Thank you

ostell unbelievable really. I have issued a SAR today asking for all data.
When they reply with the data, would you recommend anything else to do?

Edit as asked and post up the redacted NTK when you receive it but leave dates

                Did you read post #2?

Notice to Keeper, the letter you should have received within 14 days. This the basic info needed. Hopefully it will turn up in the SAR.

Your case is not really unusual, it happens all the time

Thanks ostell yeah was just very unfortunate that I forgot to change my address otherwise I could have asked for a popla code but now seems I missed the window. Let's see what they say to my SAR request. Thanks for all your help.

The 28 days is purely their own time limit. There is no legal basis.
