You kindly came to my aid in contesting PCN charges previously and I am hoping you could do the same for me one more time.....
After arriving back home from seeing family on evening of 26th December 2019, my wife and I both left our vehicles in the car park of the pub across from our house. I had the intention of moving both vehicles to the private parking area behind our house before going on a three night break to Paris on 27th December. However, I stupidly forgot to do so. Both vehicles therefore remained in the pub car park throughout the duration of our break. On arriving back home yesterday (Monday 30th December) I noticed that there was a yellow PCN sticker attached to each vehicle. The paperwork therein I put in my wallet and planned to pay each PCN this morning at the reduced rate of £60. After paying a PCN over the phone for my wife's vehicle, I was then staggered to realise that 3 x PCNs had been issued to my wife's vehicle and four to mine. That totals £700 worth of parking fines - which is incredible! Whilst away, I realised I had indeed left the cars in the pub car park and phoned to pub to see what they could do. They were very unhelpful and stated that we would have to contact the parking company directly.
Now, I have experience of contesting parking fines previously (via POPLA) but in all previous cases, the PCNs have been issued in error. In this instance, I have clearly contravened the terms and conditions of the car park and so would be happy to pay one PCN per vehicle - but not the full 7 that have been issued. The only argument I can think of is that PCNs totalling £700 are not "commensurately punitive" with the offence.
Any guidance you could provide here would be most appreciated.
