Have you identified the driver? Yes or No.

      Hello,

I received a £100 fine from Met Parking for stopping in a disabled parking space at McDonald's to assist my son for a couple of minutes. I have written to them to explain the situation and to mention that I cannot afford to pay this amount, especially since I reached out within the time frame that would still allow me to pay a reduced fee of £60.

I have contacted them twice, but they have been unresponsive and continue to demand the full £100. I would greatly appreciate your help with this matter, as I do not have the money to pay the fine, and I am concerned that the amount will increase further.

      Thank you for your assistance.

Could you please post up a copy of the PCN, (but first remove identifying details but leave in all times and dates)

Thank you for your prompt reply. I cannot upload any pictures here. I am not sure how to do it. However in the PCN has not time only the reason and the date.

try uploading to a hosting site such as IMGUR (others are available) and posting a link here.

Photos of the signs would be useful if you can get them, and indicate where they are sited within the carpark.
I tried to view them on google Earth, but the only one I could see was not clear

                      Those are reminder letters .
Could you post up the original parking charge notice and notice to keeper?

Hi, to be honest, those are the only letters I got as I was on the process of moving house. Not sure but these are the only ones I've got.

So you have a choice of either paying the charge or waiting for them to issue court proceedings and then defending the claim.

If you get an understanding judge you could well win, but nothing is certain

As you have identified the driver you would have to raise defences on the basis of inadequate signage and no intention to form a contract to park.
You only stopped briefly (? two or three minutes?) to assist your (?very young?) son who needed help for?????
There wasn't even sufficient time to read the terms & conditions on the parking signs.
Parking companies have to allow a consideration period of 5 minutes to permit drivers time to decide whether or not to park

Difficult to say more with such sparse information

I appreciate your help. I've stayed longer than that, and I'm unsure what to do about the potential charges, I might end up paying it.

If the matter goes to court the maximum you should pay will be £100 charge plus court costs £35 plus Met's permitted solicitor fees £50.
They will try and add £70 (?) costs, but the judge should disallow that.

Also factor in your time preparing defence and attending a court hearing.
