You edit so that the identity of the driver cannot be inferred. Use "the driver ....."etc.

Did the driver get a ticket on the windscreen?

Can you post up the PCN that the keeper received, redacting identifying data but leaving dates.

It's not a fine, it's an invoice for a charge that the driver agreed to with the contract offered in the signs.

MET frequently don't get it right and cannot claim from the keeper so if they do not know the driver then they are up that proverbial creek. Wasn't McD at an airport by any chance?

You've been told not to hint at who the driver was. Edit your posts as advised, therre is an edit button below your post. Or snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory.

They may have a picture of the driver but they can''t put a name and address to that person.

If this was the first notice you had of the event then you send:

                Dear Sirs,

I have just received your Notice to Keeper xxxxx for vehicle VRM xxxx

You have failed to comply with the requirements of Schedule 4 of The Protection Of Freedoms Act 2012 namely, but not limited to, failing to deliver the notice within the relevant period of 14 days as prescribed by section 9 (4) of the Act. You cannot, therefore, transfer liability for the alleged charge from the driver at the time to me, the keeper.

There is no legal requirement to name the driver at the time and I will not be doing so.

Any further communication with me on this matter, apart from confirmation of no further action and my details being removed from your records, will be considered vexatious and harassment. This includes communication from any Debt Collection companies you care to instruct.

                Yours etc

There are other failures but that is the most obvious.

We have been going through exactly the same with MET. No way of reaching anyone and now have a reminder letter from their 'legal team' to.pay 100. We had appealed to them and have an appeal reference number. But they haven't accepted or rejected it and provided a POPLA code either. They are now chasing us for payment but I cannot reach anyone to get a POPLA code. Should I send a posted letter back?*

Please start your own thread for advice so that the details don't get mixed up and the wrong advice given.* Post up a redacted copy of PCN and also your appeal.
