    Ex is using and withholding car that is owned by spouse and was bought pre-marriage. If Police seize car for no MOT/TAX what procedure would spouse need to follow to recover their car

    Tax has now expired, ex wife still driving around in it but due to non mol in place husband unable to contact her or retrieve his car. Any ideas please as to who will be held responsible if Police pull her for no Tax or MOT?

              Might be a stupid question but why can't the spouse report the car as stolen if the ex is not allowed to use the car anymore?

                I would tread extremely carefully as they could claim harassment

                  He could notify DVLA of a change of registered keeper.
                  This does not affect ownership but puts the onus for MoT, road fund tax and insurance on her.
