  • Help required, court summons

Hi there, I知 hoping someone may be able to help me with this.

back around June last year I sold (we値l scrapped) a van that I had. Filled in the v5 slip and sent off to dvla. Yesterday I received a court summons in the post for this vehicle. It turns out the scrap company that brought the vehicle from me has now repaired the issue with van and since sold it on.

court summons is for, I was the registered keeper of the vehicle, which did not meet the insurance requirements, contrary to section 144A(1) of the road traffic act 1988.

Going back a few months now I did receive a pen in the post for this vehicle, after some investigation this is when I had realised the van had actually been sold and not scrapped. Contacted the DVLA they advised me to send them a letter stating I had sold the vehicle to a registered scrap vehicle company, to which I did.

now I have received this court summons, I need so advice as to what to do if anyone can help.

    cheers

A very interesting question and I am surprised you have not received an answer.
May I ask what has happened with this case and how it was resolved ?
