  • Salesman advised no excess mileage charge for VT

Hi there. I am over 50% of pcp with VWFS.

VW salesman has assured me will face no excess mileage charge so has signed me up for a new pcp with VWFS. Car to be picked up next month

As a VW salesman has advised me to do this, albeit verbally, could I argue my case if I do get a excess mileage charge?

    Many thanks

Get it in writing from the salesman. Drop him an email if you can and rely on that later stage if it comes up.

This is what he just said

Don't worry. We actually got told today that VW are getting a bit stricter on this but I've looked it up and legally they can't charge you. Some finance companies chance it and try to charge but if you refuse they can't do anything about it.

      Surely that will cover me?!

Yes, if you have it in writing that will be evidence, if he's only told you verbally then your going to struggle but he is right anyway.
