      Hi and welcome
you were given a notice of intended prosecution when stopped? This has the correct registration number?
This appears to be a simple transcription or typographical error, and I doubt it gives you room for manoeuvre.

Hi there .... when you say that you 'stopped at the side of the road', are you saying that it was a police officer with a mobile speed camera stopped you? Or was this a fixed roadside camera that picked you up?

If it was the former, then clearly you were identified by the officer and your car details taken. One character of reg being wrong is simply a typo and we all have to accept that in the grand scheme of things, so no, unless you challenge the accuracy of the officers speed details, then you have to accept the situation.

if it was a fixed camera, then the police must have the correct number at source as otherwise how could they write to you?

Since you were obviously within a certain threshold to receive a conditional offer, then you would be wise to accept blame, pay the £60 fine and accept the three points.
