About six months ago I asked to a garage to install a 3 piece clutch kit that I provided. Two problems: it also needed a cheap Guide Sleeve for Clutch Release Bearing, which I didn't provide, and which has caused the bearing to break, and, the new mechanic said the clutch disc was on backwards when he took it off, and was grinding down against the flywheel, a schoolboy error. (YES YOU CAN reverse the clutch plate depending on the model) The original garage mentioned on the reciept the bearing squeeks, and the new mechanic said that is because the clutch bearing sleeve wasn't replaced. Could I make a small claim?

Re: Garage installed clutch backwards, new repair needed
Yes if it was not what you wanted or expected, you could make a small claim. There is a formal process, but before you make a small claim have you contacted the garage to see if they will fix this for you? If so what has is their response? do you know if it is a limited company?
Getting a report or written confirmation from the mechanic you took it to confirming that the bearing sleeve was not replaced would add weight to your claim, ideally if he would be prepared to be a witness great if not then a written statement could provide some additional weight albeit not as great if he was to turn up in person. If you have a question about the voluntary termination process, please read this guide first, as it should have all the answers you need. Please do not hijack another person's thread as I will not respond to you
