  • bus lane contravention

having just submitted an appeal to a private parking charge notice now the council is after us as well!!! arrrgggghhhh

just received their notice today and we have to pay £60 or £30 in 14 days in discounted rate...

just don't think this is quite right because the pictures in their parking charge notice does not prove anything!
they look like they are from different roads.

    Reduced 93%
    968 x 1296 (525.25K)
I live in the area, even worked on building this new road so I've been up and down this road a hundred times, never have I got a ticket before.

anyway, should I go ahead and pay the discounted rate or appeal?

    thanks for your help everyone.

ps. maybe I'll just need to walk instead soon. getting very skint. will watch parking mad again

    Re: bus lane contravention

    Hi Welcome to LB,

It looks like the left hand picture is of a junction where the bus lane starts and
right hand one is a continuation from left turn from the junction , and the car
appears to be in the bus lane.
Could this be a newly installed bus lane?

If I recall correctly someone appealed successfully because the signage approaching the bus lane from the side road was not correct. There is a sign in the left hand picture that could be a bus lane sign but it is parallel to the road and therefore drivers would not notice it when approaching.

If you didn't see any signs, then you should appeal on those grounds at the very least

I'm thinking of appealing at the same time just paying..any thoughts?? we didn't come from wobaston road which would be where the sign is and I think that's the only sign so no sign would indicate that it is a bus and cyclists only lane at the other side..??

I've only just seen this! Is it possible for the bus before me to may have blocked the markings and that's why I haven't seen them?

Any thoughts please would be appreciated.
