  • V5, not informing of new owner and DBS check

    Good evening

I hope somebody can help me/answer my question.

Many moons ago - I'm going from memory but would guess 2010ish I made a genuine mistake and forgot to send in the V5 document after I had sold a vehicle. I was out of the country and when I returned it was already too late. I had a summons to court for not sending it.

Knowing I was in the wrong, I pleaded guilty by post, apologised profusely and paid a £80 fine from memory. And that was that.

Fast forward to today, and I am applying for a new job which requires an advanced DBS check as it will be working on servers in the financial sector. My prospective employer asked if I had a criminal record to which I replied 'No, I have never even been arrested or seen the inside of a police station' (all true) but now I am worried about this issue from years ago.

Will this information appear on a DBS check? Is it a problem if it does? Is there anyway I can find out the date of the offence? Any advise from anybody who has been in a similar position would be appreciated - or maybe I'm worried about nothing???! Do I have a criminal record without even realising it????!

    Thanks in advance

This should not appear as a result of a DBS check so don't worry, no criminal offence will have been recorded for this.
