Sorry Ellzy, I am not understanding why you are saying we are at a loss. This is within 30 days so how are we at a loss we are not claiming any warranty as we know there isn't any but consumer rights.

Be careful about saying the car was fine for the first week.
As the vehicle is being rejected within the first 30 days it is for your nephew to demonstrate it was not satisfactory at the time of delivery, so you don't want to say it was great! Just keep silent on that point.
An item is unsatisfactory if e.g. it lacks durability. This vehicle showed a lack of durability by failing in some respect within 30 days.

Kaz559 - under the Consumer rRghts Act 2015 it is the dealer's responsibility to collect the car if it is rejected, UNLESS there is an agreement that the consumer must return it.
In my experience most dealers ensure this is covered in their contractual documentation.
Are you sure there is nothing in your paperwork saying you must return it?
