PCN fine paid but still getting demands

Our son had a nervous breakdown came to live with us and in his depressed state he kept ignoring letters for a PCN fine that were coming to our home. A letter from a company called BW Legal sent a letter of claim and the fine had risen to £170 that needed paying before 22/11/2025. We are both disabled pensioners and my hubby has Alzheimer’s/dementia, the situation was very stressful so we paid BW Legal in full for him knowing he will pay us back when he is well and back at work. I kept a note of date, time and person who took the payment on 20/11/2025 and have a reference number for the payment plus our bank statement shows payment. Now he has got a demand letter from Debt Recovery Plus threatening a CCJ if not paid by 1/12/2025. Where do we stand? Why is this new company making demands for the £170 that’s been paid. How can we tally this up once and for all. Sadly our son is so shut down he doesn’t want to deal with anything himself at the moment.

Debt Recovery Plus are only debt collectors and cannot initiate any court proceedings that would lead to a CCJ.
I suspect as payment has only recently been paid the records haven't yet been updated
Write to them telling them the charge (it is not a fine) has been paid to xyz on 20.11.2025 reference number 123 and you require them to remove your son's data from their records.
Any further communication, except for confirmation they will be taking no further action, will be construed as harassment.
Also you could write to BWLEGAL (parking company solicitor) and to the Parking company telling them to call off their poodles as the charge has been paid
