My daughter parked, having seen no parking signs or information. When she then met up with her friend, a Maidstone local, her friend asked if she had paid for parking. She had been in the park for around 40 minutes, at this point, and paid the charge for 6 hours but left after a total of 4 hours. The ticket, which looked like a piece of advertising literature, was so low down on the windscreen under the wipers that my daughter did not immediately notice it and had left the car park before doing so; therefore, there are no pictures of the barely visible signage. Though it is documented on Google that the signage on site is poor and misleading, resulting in the issuing of PCN’s. It might also be of interest that the PCO has entered the colour of the car incorrectly, it isn’t gold!

As this is a Penalty Charge Notice issued by a council, and not a private parking charge notice, suggest you post on Free Traffic Legal Advice (https://www.ftla.uk/) where there is much experience in dealing with these mattersLast edited by des8; 16th August 2025, 08:00:AM.
