I was temporary staying with a friend and a neighbour reversed into my parked car, he has accepted full responsibility but I forgot to inform my insurance company of a temporary change of address

    Hi Bobby51

    Welcome to LB

It may prove a problem, they may ask you to pay the admin fee i.e. change of address or any additional premium, it depends how they want to deal with it etc.
How long have you been with the the insurance company? Have you made previous claims? Different factors like that.

It depends what their T's and C's state. There are facts we don't know, i.e. how long you were at the temporary address, were there 'good' reasons for being there (were you looking after someone elderly?).

Some insurance companies are more understanding then others, the good thing is the other party has admitted it was there fault. Make the online.

Update when you get a response.

I am just concerned I will be liable for the damage even though the driver has accepted full resposability

That's only going to happen if they 'cancel' the policy. So you need to make a case for the 'oversight'.

You won't be the first person that's been in this position, research how other's have 'fared' in the same situation with the same company.

Are you now back at the address shown on your policy?

Staying with someone else for two weeks wouldn't normally be considered a temporary change of address. It's just visiting a friend and doesn't need to be declared to insurers.
