Hello, new here but would like some advice regarding a potential PCN.
This happened earlier this evening, so not received any fine as of yet but would like advice on if I have grounds to make an appeal if I do receive a fine.
I stopped in a box junction on a roundabout. I was traveling in the innermost lane and it curves to the right, lights were green and traffic was moving. Obviously traffic then stopped as there's traffic lights further around the corner which were red and I was left stationary in the box. I did indicate and attempt to move over to the left most lane as it was clear on that side but traffic prevented me from doing so.
My issue is you cannot see the traffic lights on the other side of the box from the drivers perspective when on the innermost lane as it curves to the right. Therefore I wasn't able to make an informed decision if I should enter the box, however it would also be dangerous to just stop before the box when traffic is flowing at a normal pace. You can only see the traffic lights and the situation at the other end of the box once you have committed to driving into the box.
If I was to receive a PCN, do you think I'd have grounds to challenge it on the premise that you can't clearly see the situation on the other end of the box to be able to make an informed decision as to entering or not?
I can't post images but these are the google map co-ordinates that show the box junction in question.
