  • Parking Notice Charge - issued in Bristol by Bristol Parking Services Ltd

The driver parked on 'private land' and recieved a parking charge of £60 (£100 if not paid in 14 days) on the 11 November 2024. See photos of the location (note this is not the car parked in question, but gives an idea of the spot). The car was actually parked in the area from the rear wheel of the blue car in the photo to the end of the building where the weeds can be seen growing.

The graffiti on the walls is rather distracting, partially covers one of the signs further to the left, and as the driver has colour blindness, finds it hinders perception. Where the car was parked there is no sign, the second parking area further to the left has two signs: 'Private Parking for Knightstone' and the 'Warning Sign', but they merge into, and are difficult to see clearly with the graffitti back drop. Other parking spots in close proximity have signs that are more visible, and against contrasting backgrounds where they can be seen more easily.

The company have given until the 25th November to pay before the charge is increased to £100. The driver would grately appreciate any help or advice in how to challenge the charges.

Was the Charge Notice placed on the car or given to the driver?

I would suggest ignoring that notice and wait for the parking company to send a "Notice to Keeper" as it is easier for the keeper to defend than the driver.
When your friend receives it just come back to this thread, and post up a redacted copy.

In the meantime do not identify the driver here, or if your friend should happen to communicate with them

            Hello and thanks DES8,

The Charge Notice was placed on the windscreen, found on return to the car.

We'll wait the notice to keeper, and post a redacted copy for your further advice.

            Many thanks once again!
