  • UKPC Parking Charges

Hi My husband as received a parking charge notice for parking at McDonald's Leeds, Wakefield Road for 1hr 48min 47 seconds on the 16th February 2024. It states 1hr 30 min is the maximum stay time which we were un aware of. He is the registered keeper of the car which is a mobility car. He is a wheelchair user which we have to dismantle to put back in car and he is also a slow eater. We did displace his blue badge. The photo of the car is in colour on arrival but the picture is black & white on departure. How do we stand regarding this parking charge. They are wanting £50 for 14 day early pay discount. £100 For full payment if passed the 14 days. Please help. Thanks

Hi my husband is not the driver. He had to use the toilet twice whilst we were at McDonald's which in turn takes more time than someone that's able. I will try to attached copy of the UKPC. Thanks for your response.

Your first port of call should be the owner/ manager of McDonald's, asking him to have the charge cancelled.

The driver was unaware of the parking time restriction, so presumably the signs were not noticed.
So whilst there to see the manager, get a photo of the signs at the park, both at the entrance and within the park, and a note of their positioning
If there are slots dedicated to disable users, was one used and was there a sign visible from the car?

When responding ensure you do not say anything from which the driver's identity can be inferred
