  • DRP letter after 4 months

    Hi Legal Beagles

My vehicle was used at Gatwick McDonald's and the driver is diabetic and needed the toilet desperately and briefly (5 mins) parked in the disabled bay and then moved it. The driver was with family and friends (friends separate vehicle who parked in disabled bay, had a badge).

I have only just ( after 4 months) received a letter from DRP. No other letters received from the creditor or DRP.

How can I deal with this please? The fine was £100 and is now £170 due to not responding.

no ticket on vehicle this was captured by CCTV.

    Thank you in advance.

So write to MET parking and inform them you have just received DRP's final letter and this is the first you have heard of the matter.
Accordingly this letter is A SUBJECT ACCESS REQUEST for all the data they have on you, including any parking charge notices they may have sent you.
remind them they have one calendar month in which to comply, and if they don't normally deal with such requests they should pass it to their Data Protection Officer.

Also write to DRP (toothless debt collectors) that the matter is in dispute and they should cease collection activities and pass it back to their principal.

Send both letters first class with free certificate of posting from post office.

DO NOT IDENTIFY DRIVER AT ANY TIME

Please post the bailiff's letter here (with personal information that would ID you covered up).

Are the bailiffs claiming they are enforcing a court judgement? Have you ever received any papers from a court about this?

Have the DRP letter in your first post and the bailiff letter been correctly addressed to you at your current address?

I assume you are the Registered Keeper of the vehicle. Does the DVLA vehicle registration document V5C show your correct current address?
