Hi, I'm writing on behalf of the driver who is a family member. The driver and a friend organises a Christmas meal for around 20 elderly people every year at a local hotel. Due to issues with the deposit, the driver and friend had to attend the hotel on numerous occasions to sort out a discrepancy with the meal deposit. They both attended on 13/11/23 and emails from the hotel to the driver confirm the balance was paid on that day. There is also a bank statement from the friend, showing the balance was paid-the money came out of their account on 14/11/23

Today the family member has received a PCN from Smart Parking relating to parking for 15 minutes on 13/11/23 in the hotel car park. They reported they entered the Registration no when entering the reception. The PCN is dated 24/11/23. It is over 14 days since the PCN was dated, and 29 days since the parking incident.

Would you appeal the ticket based on the fact it was over 14 days since the PCN was dated. Should they even go into details with proof of deposit payment for the meal as part of the appeal?

    Many thanks

An appeal on the grounds that the NTK was received outside of the 14 day period will fail unless there is proof of late delivery.
Proof will have to be from a third party e.g. postman or perhaps doorbell camera recording.

Best bet is to go back to hotel and ask them to have the charge cancelled.

If that doesn't work if you can post up the NTK and photos of the parking signs we may be able to advise further .
