Good morning, I have just received another letter from debt recovery plus saying that I have 7 days to contact them again also saying I have lost the right to appeal by not responding sooner. Do I ring them or write again. Thank you.

        NEVER 'PHONE these companies.

        You could write:

        Dear sirs

        REFxxxxxx
        Your letter of dd Jan

        My letter of 22Dec refers.

This alleged debt is disputed and you should cease all collection activities and return the matter to your principals.

Any further communication from you will be deemed harassment and referred to your regulatory body.

        Yours faithfully

I've not received a reply yet but if they decide to go to court where do I stand. I've kept original envelope from first contact and letter, I also have video evidence of postage through my letter box which in court they could dispute. I could approach the post office and ask for deliveries to my address, not sure if that's possible but I'm just forward thinking. I'm also thinking if it goes to court can I get the envelope date of post.... Thank you.

They will have problems in court as they do not know the identity of the driver (unless you have told them) and their notice to keeper does not comply with the regulations so they cannot pass liability to you the keeper.
However county court is always a bit of a lottery!

I assume that was from DebtRecovery Plus.
As they haven't addressed your concerns you could write to them:

I thank you for your direction to Citizens Advice Bureau.

In turn I suggest you read the FCA Handbook Conc 7.14 about disputed debts.
In case you have trouble locating your copy it states:
"A firm must suspend any steps it takes or its agent takes in the recovery of a debt from a customer where the customer disputes the debt on valid grounds or what may be valid grounds."

Now return the debt to your principals or be reported to the regulatory authorities

                        Yours...

Or you could just ignore it!
