  • Private Parking Charge- Financial claim form

I received a private parking charge notice from UK Parking Control back in 2019 and took many pictures and issued and sent a standard letter stating that due to the illegal signage and very small notifications in far reaching parts of the car park I would not be paying unless they addressed my concerns and questions on why the signage seemed to be illegal. They refused to answer my questions but continued to hound me for payment via bailiffs and now via a court finance claim. I responded with a dispute in box 1 to the claimed amount (£270) reiterating the letter I sent back in 2019, lack of any response to the concerns raised, and highlighting the photos I had showing the lack of signage. If this likely to proceed to court and can anyone give me guidance on what I need to do next and if it is worth challenging this

Firstly, why did you receive the original parking charge? secondly, why do you believe the signage seemed illegal, when you say now via a court finance claim do you mean within days , weeks or months as you are indicating your last contact was 4 years ago in 2019.
Going forward it would be helpful if you were to upload the photographs you have of the car park and signage.

Has the driver (at the time of contravention) been ID'd?
Did this contravention occur in England/Wales?
Is/was the vehicle hired/leased? Company vehicle?
Do you still have copies of any/all Notices & photos of site signs?
Have you received any formal letter(s) before claim, & if yes, from whom?

Could you confirm that the 'hounding' demands were from debt collectors, not officially acting in the capacity of bailiffs?
