    Hi, looking for advice.
    I sold my car last week, all fine buyer transferred the money over and drove the car off. He has since contacted me to say he has discovered that the car was repaired after an accident (before I owned the car) and he wants to return it for a refund. I did not know that the car had been repaired. It’s roadworthy, with new MOT etc. Do I have to accept the car back?

    No, assuming you are not a motor trader and this was purely a private sale, you don't have to accept it back. So long as you did not mislead the buyer, the principle of "caveat emptor" (let the buyer beware) applies. The buyer must do his homework and cannot blame the seller if he doesn't. He should have taken whatever steps he took to discover the car had been involved in an accident before he bought it.

            I have received a letter from the buyer asking for a refund. Would someone be able to help me with what to say in the reply letter please?
