Hi everyone. Looking for some advice please. So we brought a VW Touran from a sales garage. We originally saw the ad on Facebook. We did a MOT check which showed no advisorys. But on the ad it stated that the previous owner had accidentally poured oil into water coolant. So we simply requested that if this issue was fixed we would go ahead with the sale. We payed £80 for the water coolant to be flushed. And then we travelled from Devon all the way to Walsall to purchase the vehicle. We payed £700 for the vehicle. We got the vehicle home and took it to our local garage, in which a number of issues some very serious showed up. Below is the full list
Oil in coolant. ? oil cooler faulty?
OSR tyre below legal limit.
Water heater bypassed.
Sump plug sealed in with silicone. ? cracked sump?
Oil leak from top of engine. ? rocker cover or head gasket?
Turbo oil feed pipe bracket broken.
Lower coolant hose leaking.
Intercooler pipe blowing oil from joints.
NSR shock absorber leaking & cover dropped.
OSR shock absorber cover dropped.
Water leaking into boot area.
Dual mass flywheel noisy (new clutch & flywheel would be required).
So all of these issues were present when the car was purchased, and none of this was mentioned from the garage whatsoever. The vehicle is now deemed unroadworthy and we would be looking at a bill well over £1000 to fix the issues. We contacted the garage to request a refund, but is not accepting any responsibility or offering a refund. So my question is where do we stand with this?
Many thanks
