  • Unauthorized sale to a salvage yard

Help!!! My boyfriend was in the process of selling his vehicle to a friend. The friend still owed money on the vehicle but sold it to a salvage yard. The title still in the boyfriend's name and the friend kept all proceeds from the sale. The salvage yard he says he sold it to is denying knowing anything about the purchase. What can I do?

YOU can't do anything about it, but your boyfriend might.

When your boyfriend sold the car was there any paperwork evidencing the contract and terms of payment?
Is your boyfriend still registered with DVLA as the keeper?
How much does the (ex)friend owe?
If the salvage yard deny all knowledge why does your boyfriend think it has been sold to them.
