I purchased a DVLA registered 2018 Land Rover Discovery 2 years ago which I now find was first registered 1 year earlier in Malta and later imported to UK in 2018. I purchased this from from a car dealer in good faith and at full retail value for a 2018 model. It doesn't say in any documentation that it is an import (including the V5) nor was it declared as such by the dealer. Can I claim a refund from the dealer or compensation?

Yes. I'm now selling the car and another dealer interested in it has told me its an import. I have called Land Rover and they have confirmed it was sold as NEW by a dealer in Malta 1 year before it was imported and registered in the UK by the DVLA. I'ts a top of the range vehicle with a full accessory pack so today carries a retail value in excess of 50k (Or should do) but I'm struggling to find a buyer at the full market value now. I paid full market value at the time of purchase in the belief that nothing was out of the ordinary.

Ok well it seems you may have a claim for misrepresentation, depending on the facts of course, and misrep may give you the option to rescind the contract.I work for Roach Pittis Solicitors.
