  • Used car on HP

On Friday last week I took possession of a 2 year old ToyotaAygo. I’m disabled, so when I got home with my new car which is on HP I found that the boot area is too small to get my buggy into it. I now need to change to a bigger car. I know I should have checked first to see if it would go in but forgot ( put it down to age ). Well I contacted sales and explained what the problem was and he said he would speak to the boss on Monday but doesn’t hold any chances that I can change now although it has only been 2 days since I bought it. I would like to know from anyone who has had a similar problem and what my rights are please.

    Hi Mucky I Know

I take it that the car dealer was made aware of your disability at the time of purchase (did the salesman ask about any specific functions the car needs to meet). Although you didn't know at the time that it wouldn't be 'fit for purpose', you now know that is the case (It's not a case of you simply changing your mind, it's lacking a essential function - boot capacity).See what the dealer comes back with.

I'm sure more advice from members will follow
