  • Stolen Motorcycle - Police found and called Local Recovery Company

    Hi all

    I'm needing a little advice

I had a motorbike stolen in 2014 (Yes, 7 yes ago!)

The Police found it the same day and had a local recovery company collect it. The Company wanted £150 + £10 per every day it was still there.

At the time I had no job and no money to collect it nor any family so I had zero help.

After a bit of a rant from the 20 year old me I never contacted the Recovery company again and they never contacted me either.

I've just found the V5C Vehicle Log book and thought I'd possibly like to collect the motorbike albeit the cost will be a fair amount.

If the recovery has done something with the motorbike (ie scrapped it or got rid of it) Where do I stand legally?

    Hi TyRichards

I could be wrong, but I think it would have been the police who would have auctioned it off after a certain period as it wasn't claimed.

It might be an idea to contact your local police station and explain what's happened and their time lines for disposal of recovered goods.

Other members here will have a better idea and provide more advice.
