  • vexatious car insurance claim

Ive recieved a letter from Ageas Insurance Ltd asking me to contact them about an 'incident' involving my car on 25th September 2020. No
other detail than that, not even the reg of my car, times, location nothing other than my name and address. I have no idea what they are talking about. Ive checked my car for any new scratches etc . The small print footer on the letter says they will contact DVLA for vehicle details if I dont respond. Ive written to them to say neither myself or my vehicle have been involved in any incident and that I believe any claim to the contrary is vexatious. Any advice would be very welcome. Ive heard so many stories about insurers not even investigating claims.

Presumably Ageas are not your insurers.
You should inform your own insurers in writing that you believe a false claim may be being made against you.
Enclose a copy of the Ageas letter and your response
Tell them that at this stage you are not lodging a claim but are merely keeping them informed.
