Hi We have just bought a car from local dealership. Mileage was supposed to be 5400 and we have that in writing but turns out mileage is 9600. The trip computer was 5400, so we can see how mistake was made. Do we have any grounds for recompense. Thanks

What are you seeking when you say "recompense"?
Would the have influenced your decision to purchase the vehicle?
Would you have used the difference in mileage to negotiate a reduced price?
Your most likely outcome will be to negotiate a price reduction to reflect any difference in value.
I suspect any reduction offered will be quite small as dealers tend to work in mileage blocks of 25,000, although of course being a newish car double the mileage whilst low might have a greater effect..
