Excess

My wife was hit from a car from behind , her car was scraped due to damage. Her insurance company says she has to pay the excess of £350 for the claim to be sorted, does she have to pay it when it’s not her fault, could someone give me some advice please thanks

If your wife has made a claim on her own insurance, she is responsible for the excess amount.
In effect as the car was scrapped the excess amount is normally deducted from the amount at which the insurers value the car.
However she can claim that (and any other losses flowing directly from the accident including personal injury, extra fares etc) from the person responsible for the incident.
