    Hi, Newbie's first post !

A relative has received one of these P.C.N. for overstaying there time.

Under what power /law can the parking company demand personal details of the driver of the said vehicle from the registered keeper as per DVLA records ? Or is it just a "request." I know that Police have the powers to obtain the drivers details for vehicle driven on a public highway.

What happens if the registered keeper does not comply with this "request ?"

Appoligies with this Q & A is already on here.

    Regards

    FF

Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/...dule/4/enacted for England and Wales, not applicable for Scotland though.

They cannot demand personal details of the driver, they can "invite" the keeper to giver the details.

If they have complied with the requirements of POFA then they can hold the registered keeper liable for the actions of the driver and continue against the keeper. Only in England and Wales.

So post up the PCN here. Do not infer who was driving. redact personal identifying details but please leave dates.
