Purchased second hand car and clutch problems after six months.

    Did you report the problem before the 6 months was up?

    The CRA assumes that if a fault develops within 6 months then it was present when the article was purchased. The trader has to prove that it wasn't. That's why I am asking for the dates and what has actually happened.

      I had a problem like this, also with the dealer saying a part was recently replaced.

      When it failed in the first six months I argued that they had effectively given me a warranty on that item and that it had not lasted a reasonable period of time, they argued for a bit but eventually agreed to pay for the work to be done.
