Just after some advise... I am VT my Renault pcp finance. I phoned them on the 9th Feb to which they said that they would email me a pack out and to read and sign then they can start the process, having my whits about me I thought I would research first and realised that I didn't need to sign anything. So I used the template supplied on here and sent it by signed for post which they recieved today, I have also emailed this to them. My question is so do I leave it a few days and then if I don' hear anything ring them? Also from when I said I wanted to vt on the 9th feb should they have cancelled my DD as I was told that this can' happen unless I sign there pack which I believe isn't required.

Can anyone advise or has anyone been in the same position.

Phone them - they were extremely nice to me on the phone and really helpful (they have a dedicated VT Team). I did the form, but that was before I had read on here about signing forms, but it hasn't been an issue, as the car wasn't over-mileage.

They've only sent me a £163 bill for damage which I'm working on reducing/cancelling, but other than that it was fairly smooth with Renault and Mannheim (the people who came to inspect it and take it away).

I'd phone and say that you sent in cancellation by email, confirm they've got that, and ask (nicely) if it's OK to cancel the DD now - the guy on the phone with me said to do that there and then, before they even had anything in writing and said it was fine to keep on driving up to collection (which I did). I kept it taxed & insured obviously.

Don't start off all argumentative, it serves no purpose unless they start being awkward. Just be Mr/Mrs Reasonable, it's much harder for them to be awkward when you are being nice!
