  • Council Tax and Attachment of earnings

Hello, a relative has got behind with her council tax coverind 2 separate years. an AOE has been set up but the relative has found that 2 AOE have been set up and 29% of her income is being taken. This now leaves her with £200 to cover gas/elect/water/food and travel to work which is £40 per week.
No doubt this has to be paid but 29% of an income seems to be a lot.
    Thank you

Unfortunately the Regulations allow for 2 AOE to run together. If she is experiencing hardship she needs to talk to the Council concerned.
