  • Reclaiming Charges

Unsure whether to post here or in bailiffs section as fits in both. In 2007-08 we had bailiffs instructed against us for council tax arrears. All is now paid and sorted BUT I have SAR'd the council who have complied. I've SAR'd the bailiffs to see what charges they applied in the belief some were unfair (they paid the council £1343.97 yet we know we paid the bailiffs well over £2000 which given they never even visited seems excessive). The bailiff company have not responded to the SAR. Do I now go down the write twice reminding them, then report to ICO or write straight to them, or try try to pursue through the council. I have it in writing that the council would ensure the bailiffs were notified they had to comply.

Any advice much appreciated as always,

    Caspar

If it were me and given the huge back-log that the ICO currently has, I would send them one reminder letter (if you haven't already done so) swiftly followed by a Letter Before Action and ultimately, I would sue them for the information.
