I am interested to learn under what statutory legislation in respect of legal duties the VOA operates. So far I have found a published standards which is the same as HMRC, but nothing in relation to legal duties.

Specifically, I wonder if the VOA has statutory legal duties in the same fashion that social services do with regard to provision of information, carrying out an assessment, etc.?
