Hi there!

New to this forum.

Council tax bill for a house I知 selling and I知 currently living abroad with no intention of returning to the uk to live.
If it sells should I just ignore the emails? Same goes for gas and electricity?

I live in Cambodia (have done for over 6 years now) and I only return to the uk max once a year for a couple of weeks to see some friends and family.

they have also sent a council tax bill to my parents house which is my uk correspondence address but I don稚 live there and only have a few clothes stored there. The gas and electric (same company) contacted by email only.

My email was given to these entities by the Lettings agent I was using, the property is now empty and I致e excepted an offer.

What痴 the worst that can happen to me if I ignore all the emails?

The best thing to do is make sure there are no loose ends.

If they are sending bills to your parents address, then Court claims which aren't responded to, could mean CCJ's, bailiffs etc that your parents might have to deal with.

I'm sure they can do without all that. They could be chasing the debt for years to come.
