  • Should I tell VOA of major works

Hi, my house in Hackney is undergoing major works and is not liveable (Loft extension, rear GF extension, basement excavation etc). LB Hackney only gives 25% discount. Should I notify VOA and get it deleted until works are finished? I am afraid that, as it is deleted due to the works (if the VOA agree), once the works are completed, it will be considered a new valuation (even though there is no change in ownership) and they will re-value the property and put it on a higher band (where the property will be larger and more valuable). BTW it is already 7 months of works and I haven't notified.
