Hi, my house in Hackney is undergoing major works and is not liveable (Loft extension, rear GF extension, basement excavation etc). LB Hackney only gives 25% discount. Should I notify VOA and get it deleted until works are finished? I am afraid that, as it is deleted due to the works (if the VOA agree), once the works are completed, it will be considered a new valuation (even though there is no change in ownership) and they will re-value the property and put it on a higher band (where the property will be larger and more valuable). BTW it is already 7 months of works and I haven't notified.
