I rent a room in a 2 bed house in Nottingham. I pay rent and council tax to the other person living here. The property is Council Tax Band A which is £1,607.76 per year.That's £133.98 per month over 12 months.
She is telling me the Council Tax is £210 per month. I don't understand why and she gets anxious and irritated when I question it. She says each person who lives in the house has to pay the full council tax charge per month.
I thought there is just one monthly charge for the property and the tenants have to pay an equal share of that charge (If it's £100 per month and there are two people living there, they pay £50 each) Am I right?
