I have just received a council tax bill for a property that I moved out of 6 and a half years ago and paid all my bills that were due. However the council are now saying that the property has been re banded and I owe them over £300. Surely this can’t be right? I paid all my bills on time every time. Can they really re band a property and go back retrospectively and charge everyone that lived there??

Hi JOHNBARNES
That is something you should definitely complain to the Revenues Department at the Council, there should be details on the letter you received. It sounds very 'unfair' as it's been done retrospectively.
Here's some information -
