  • Bristow and Sutor want unrealistic payment

hi there I’m in a bit of a pickle I’ve been paying an arraignment with Bristow and Sutor for last few months (flexable payment) and it came to an end, I then got a text message asking me to contact them via phone or WhatsApp, so I messaged using WhatsApp because It’s free, usually they would have got in contact straight away but they left it for two weeks before getting back in contact with me and now my flexible payment has been lost and they want an unrealistic offer of £400 before they’ll consider a new payment plan. The bloke on the phone told me to raise funds other ways I asking friends and family for money, can they actually ask that? So if you guys don’t mind can I get a little help over here, oh and it’s a Council tax bill they are chasing me for.

    Hi MRBEEFY

What I would do under those circumstances is, lodge a Letter of Complaint, mark the letter as such. Explain your circumstances generally, explain that it is totally unfair to ask for a sum that you can't pay in any circumstances in the manner you've been asked too (to ask others to raise money), explain what you can manage to pay each month (don't over stretch yourself).

Explain that if you can't resolve this matter satisfactorily, you'll lodge a complaint with the Financial Ombudsman Service.

You can amend the following template, with your current circumstances
