  • CDER asking for council tax arrears from 2006 at an address I've never lived at

    Here's something I didn't expect to happen.
In today's post I have a letter from CDER (used to be JBW) stating that there was a Liability order for an address in Teesside for £669 from July 2006 + £ 75 fees.
I have looked up this online but there doesn't seem to be much advice what to reply with.
As of yet I have made no contact, what is the best way forward. I can SAR the council (Redcar and Cleveland) but I doubt they will have any information from 2006.
    Any advice?

Contact them and ask why are they contacting you for a debt pertaining to an address you have never had any connection with.

This is possibly a tracing service that got the wrong address for the name
